Planned works are underway on Moliani–Chaliani drainage massif in Ozurgeti Municipality
For ensuring proper operation of amelioration infrastructure across the regions “Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out planned works. Collector and drainage canals, with total length of 15 kilometers, located on 100 ha of land area are being aligned on Moliani–Chaliani drainage massif, in Ozurgeti municipality.
The works envisage cleaning of the canals from sediment and remains, which will significantly facilitate to the improvement of water discharge capacity and efficient operation of drainage schemes, as well as help to reduce excess moisture.
Currently, rehabilitation works have already been completed on a 5 500 m long section of the canals. As a result, amelioration infrastructure will be improved on 30 ha of land area, the reliability of the drainage scheme will increase significantly that will have a positive impact on the locals’ agricultural activities.
