Amelioration canals cleaned in the village of Dzirkoki
“Georgian Amelioration” Ltd has completed cleaning works of irrigation canals in Gurjaani Municipality. Up to a 1,000 m long section of the canal was cleaned from sedimentation, trees and shrubs in the village of Dzirkoki.
The mentioned canals are used for water supply of both agricultural land plots and fish ponds. As a result of the works carried out, water supply has improved on up to 30 ha of agricultural land area and 10 ha of fish farms, which will contribute to the agricultural development in the municipality.
As a result of the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented between 2012 and 2024 in Kakheti region, total of 20140 hectares of agricultural land area have been supplied with water, irrigation water supply has been improved on 16 285 hectares, while drainage covered 8 725 hectares.
