Rehabilitation of main canal in Lagodekhi municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd has completed the rehabilitation of a section of the main canal in Lagodekhi Municipality. Within the works carried out a 1935m long cast in-situ reinforced-concrete canal was constructed, which will facilitate to the reduction of water losses.
Total cost of the project amounted to GEL 1 556 600.
As a result of the works carried out, irrigation on up to 300 ha of agricultural land area will be improved. Farmers will receive irrigation water reliably and on time, which will have a positive impact on agricultural productivity and economic development of the region.
As a result of the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented between 2012 and 2024 in Kakheti, total of 20 140 hectares of agricultural land area have been water supplied, irrigation water delivery has been improved on 16 285 ha, while drainage covered 8 725 hectares.
