Drainage massif is being cleaned in Ozurgeti municipality
Within the arrangement of amelioration infrastructure, “Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is carrying out works on the drainage massif in Ozurgeti municipality.
Water collection and drainage canals, with total length of 5000 m, arranged on 21 ha of land area are being cleaned from ground sediment and waste in the village of Tkhinvali. So far, cleaning of 1000 meters has been completed.
As a result of the works performed on the drainage massif, agricultural land plots and adjacent household plots with total area of 25 ha will be protected from flooding, drainage infrastructure will properly operate and agricultural production potential will increase.
It’d be noted, that as a result of the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented by “Georgian Amelioration” in Guria region within 2012-2024, total of 2175 hectares of agricultural land area have been drained.
