A 2000 m long section of Tiriponi canal has been cleaned from ground sediment and plant residues in Shida Kartli
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd has completed the arrangement of the old main canal in the village of Mejvriskhevi, in Gori Municipality, Shida kartli. The works included cleaning of up to 2000 m long section of the Tiriponi canal, from ground sediment and plant residues. As a result of the works performed, discharge capacity of the canal will significantly increase that will facilitate to the improvement of water supply to up to 800 ha of agricultural land area. The population of three villages of Gori Municipality -Mejvriskhevi, Zerti and Kvartikhi will benefit from the repaired irrigation canal .
Stable irrigation water supply will facilitate to the growth of agricultural potential and enable local farmers to improve agricultural production.
Currently, total of 5 amelioration infrastructural projects are underway in Shida Kartli region. As a result, irrigation water supply will improve on 10740 ha of agricultural land area.
