cleaning works of the drainage canals are underway in Senaki Municipality

"Georgian Amelioration" LTD of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is carrying out works on the Chaladidi drainage massif in Senaki Municipality. In the village Teklati, a collector canal with a length of 2500 meters, which totally serves 335 hectares of agricultural and adjacent household land plots, is being cleaned from trees and alluvion.

The carried out works will facilitate the regular water flow in the canal, which will ensure the improvement of drainage services. The General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” LTD, Gigla Tamazashvili, inspected the ongoing works on the drainage massif. Well-regulated amelioration canals are one of the important aspects facilitating the growth of agricultural crop production.

As a result of amelioration infrastructural projects, implemented in Samegrelo region in 2012-2024, totally 12 400 hectares of land area are drained, and works of excess water disposal were carried out on 10 170 hectares of land area.
