Cleaning works of the irrigation canals are underway in the village Bakurtsikhe
In the framework of the alignment works of the amelioration infrastructure, "Georgian Amelioration" LTD is carrying out cleaning works of irrigation canals in Gurjaani Municipality. In the village Bakurtsikhe in Gurjaani Municipality, a stretch with a length of 2500 meters of the distribution channel is being cleaned from sediment.
The carried out works will facilitate the regular water flow in the canal, which will significantly improve irrigation water supply to 50 hectares of agricultural land area. As a result, agricultural crop production will be increased.
The alignment works of the irrigation canals are at the completion stage.
As a result of amelioration infrastructural projects, implemented in Kakheti region in 2012-2024 years, in addition 20 140 hectares of agricultural land area have been water provided, irrigation water supply has been improved to 16 285 hectares, and the drained land area is 8725 hectares.
