Irrigation water supply will improve on up to 70 ha of agricultural land area in Shida Kartli

“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture continuously implement amelioration infrastructural projects all over country.  A 1.5 km long section of Tsiskvili canal is being cleaned on the territory of the town of Kareli, in Shida Kartli. The irrigation canal serves the population of Kareli and the village of Zemo Khvedureti.

The works carried out ensure unhindered discharge of water through the canal. As a result, water supply will improve on up to 70 ha of agricultural land area that will facilitate to the increase of abundant and high-quality agricultural production. The works, carried out by “Georgian Amelioration” by own resources are under completion.

It’d be noted that as a result of the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented in Shida Kartli region within the years of 2012-2024, additionally more than 20 000 ha of agricultural land area has been water supplied, while irrigation water supply has improved on 15 685 ha.
