Cleaning works are underway on the irrigation canals in Gori municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out cleaning works on the Tiriponi old main canal in Gori municipality. Total of 6,4 km long canal is being cleaned from vegetation and sediment. Currently, the works are underway in the village of Mejvriskhevi, where a 2.2. km long section has already been cleaned. The works will be carried out on the territories of the villages of Kirbali and Bershueti.
As a result of the operational measures undertaken, discharge capacity of the canal will increase that will ensure unhindered filling of Nadarbazevi reservoir.
The Tiriponi old main canal supplies water to more than 700 ha of agricultural land area of the villages Zerti, Kirbali, Bershueti, Khurvaleti and the village of Tsinagara, remained beyond the border.
As of present, total of 6 amelioration infrastructural projects are underway in Shida Kartli region. As a result, water supply will improve on more than 11 870 ha of agricultural land area.
