Works are underway on Lesa-Chibati drainage massif in Lanchkhuti municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is carrying out works for the alignment of the amelioration scheme on the territory of the Lesa-Chibati villages, in Lanchkhuti municipality. Up to 2.2. km long water collection canals are being cleaned from vegetation and sediment.
As a result of the unhindered discharge of water through the cleaned canals, there will no longer be a threat of flooding the adjacent household plots and agricultural land area.
The operational arrangements, carried out by “Georgian Amelioration” ltd by own resources are at the stage of completion.
It’d be noted that as a result of the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented by “Georgian Amelioration” in Guria region, within the years of 2012-2024, total of 2,175 hectares of agricultural land area have been drained.
