Cleaning works are underway on 2 km long drainage canals in Khobi Municipality
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out works to clean up to 2 km long collector and drainage canals from trees, shrubs and sediment on the territory of the village of Shua Khorga.
As a result of unhindered flow of water through cleaned canals, there will no longer be a threat of flooding 35ha of agricultural land area and up to 15 ha of adjacent household plots.
“Georgian Amelioration” will have completed the cleaning works by the middle of the current month.
It’d be noted that, as a result of ameliorative infrastructural projects implemented in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region within the years of 2012-2024, total of 12,395 hectares of land area have been drained.
