Due to the fact that a 1400 mm diameter aqueduct has accidentally been damaged in the village of Zemo Shakshaketi, Kareli Municipality, water supply to Tashiskari irrigation scheme has been interrupted.

The following villages aren’t supplied with irrigation water, namely: Abisi, Berdzenauli, Zemo and Kvemo Shakshaketi, Kodavardisubani, Mokhisi, Tamarasheni, Ptsa, Kvenatkotsa, Aradeti, Breti, Sagolasheni, Tsveri, Bebnisi, Ruisi, Urbnisi.

Georgian Amelioration has mobilized special equipment on the site and repair works are underway.

Given the scale of the damage, the works will be completed tomorrow, on  August 7, by the end of the day, after which irrigation water will be released into the scheme.
