Irrigation canals are being cleaned in the village of Etseri
Within the program of ameliorative infrastructure enhancement,“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out works on the Etseri irrigation scheme.
A 2.5 km long section of the canal is being cleaned from sediment on the territory of the Etseri village, in Terjola municipality.
As a result of the works carried out, discharge capacity of the canal will increase and supply of irrigation water will improve on 165 ha of agricultural land area in the municipality, which will facilitate to the increase agricultural production opportunity.
Georgian Amelioration is carrying out operational arrangements by own resources.
It’d be noted that as a result of the ameliorative infrastructural projects implemented in Imereti region since 2012, total of 12,075 ha of agricultural land area has been water supplied, irrigation water supply has been improved on 15,265 ha of land plots, while drainage covered 3,385 ha.
