The General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” LTD Gigla Tamazashvili inspected amelioration infrastructural facilities in the Imereti region
The General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” LTD, Gigla Tamazashvili, visited western Georgia, where he got acquainted with the amelioration systems of Imereti region and inspected the infrastructural facilities. Gigla Tamazashvili, together with the representatives of the regional office, received information about the ongoing preparatory works for the irrigation season.The general director and the employees of the relevant office also discussed the issues of the proper functioning of infrastructure facilities.
It should be mentioned that during the years 2012-2024, 32 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure were implemented in the Imereti region. Within the framework of operation, 1,078 kilometers of amelioration canals were regulated and cleaned, and 1,555 units of various types of hydraulic structures were repaired. As a result of the mentioned infrastructural works, 12,075 hectares of agricultural land area were water-provided, the irrigation water supply was improved to 15,270 hectares, and 3,385 hectares of land plots were drained.
