Irrigation water supply will improve on 300 ha of agricultural land area in Kvemo Kartli
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd carry out cleaning works of Khrami canal irrigation scheme in Marneuli municipality.
The works include cleaning of a10 km long section of the main canal from sediment and vegetation, and installation of regulation gates.
“Georgian Amelioration” has started the activities in February of the current year and will complete them in May.
The works will facilitate to the increase of discharge capacity of the canal and reduction of water loss; as a result, amelioration services will be improved on approximately 300 ha of agricultural land area.
It’d be noted that as a result of the amelioration infrastructural projects implemented in Kvemo Kartli region within the years 2012-2024, total of 34,095 ha of agricultural land area was transferred into regular irrigation, while irrigation water supply was improved on 32,070 ha of agricultural land.
