Irrigation water supply will be improved on 350 ha of agricultural land area in Kakheti
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is actively implementing irrigation and drainage infrastructural projects throughout the country. On the territory of Akura and Vanta villages, works for the alignement of Zemo Alazani irrigation scheme are underway. 2.5 km long section of the main canal is being cleaned from sedimentary soil and vegetation.
The works carried out will increase discharge capacity of the canal which will facilitate to uninterruptable flow of water. As a result, irrigation water supply will improve on up to 350 ha of agricultural land area in 6 villages of Telavi and Gurjaani municipalities (Akura, Vanta, Kakhipari, Vachnadziani, Kalauri, Shashiani).
Georgian Amelioration has commenced cleaning works of the irrigation canal in March of the current year and will complete it by the end of April.
