Cleaning works are underway on irrigation network in Tetritskaro municipality
„Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture actively continues alignment of irrigation and drainage schemes throughout the country.
In Tetritskaro Municipality, a 12-kilometer section of main canal of Tbisi-Kumisi Irrigation Scheme is being cleaned from shrubs and ground sediment.
The works carried out will facilitate to uninterrupted discharge of water into the canal. As a result, irrigation water supply will be improved on 700 hectares of agricultural land in the municipality.
Population of 8 villages (Tbisi, Partskhisi, Bogvi, Georgiashvili, Asureti, Ertisi, Vashlovani, Koda) will benefit from the repaired irrigation scheme.
The works will be completed by the end of May.
